Достопримечательности Лондона - Places of Interest in London

Цель урока

Развивать коммуникативные умения учащихся через социокультурную компетенцию.

Задачи

Образовательная:

Активизация словарного запаса в самостоятельных фразовых высказываниях учащихся.

Практика учащихся в выразительном чтении в рамках подготовки к технике чтения.

Извлечение из текста общей и детальной лингвострановедческой информации.

Развивающая:

Развитие мыслительных способностей учащихся, связанных с языковой догадкой и сравнением достопримечательностей.

Знакомство учащихся с различными источниками информации.

Позитивное воздействие на уровень эмоционально-чувственного развития личности.

Воспитательная:

Воспитание уважения к культуре страны изучаемого языка.

Воспитание социальной компетентности или готовности к действию и взаимодействию в современном мире.

Воспитание уважения интересов друг друга и умения работать в команде.

Тип: урок формирования лексических и грамматических навыков в устной речи и чтении.

Вид: комбинированный – использование различных видов речевой деятельности.

Межпредметные связи: английский язык, география, история, информатика.

Посадка учащихся в классе: групповая по 3 – 4 человека.

Форма работы: индивидуальная, парная, групповая, фронтальная.

Программное обеспечение: компьютер с выходом в Интернет, медиа-проектор, ISB, фрагмент аудиозаписи, графические объекты,

мультимедийная презентация по теме.

Оборудование: аудиомагнитофон, аудиокассета (приложение к УМК)

Дидактический материал: карточки с вопросами к текстам и карточки для рефлексии, мяч для игры.

1. Организационный момент.

a. Приветствие.

Teacher (T): Good morning, my dear students.

Pupils (Ps): (в дальнейшем) P1, P2, P3) Good morning, Galina Gennadyevna.

b. T. Greet each other, please. (Учащиеся работают в парах.)

2. Введение в ситуацию урока:

Teacher. I am glad to hear that you are fine. I’ve got some exciting news. At the end of April we are going to have a Week of

Foreign Languages and our English group is responsible for the activity “Places of Interest in London”. Have you got any ideas

what to do and how to do?

P1: I think we can watch a video film about London again.

P2: That’s a good idea but we watched it last week. Let’s make a presentation.

P3: A presentation? Oh, no! Our classmates from another group are making a presentation. In my opinion we should make a quiz.

P4. A quiz about London sights! It’s cool!

T: I don’t mind. Let’s vote. Who is for the quiz? All the pupils? That’s great.

T. If we have voted for the quiz about London sights, we’ll have to find out a lot of interesting information about them and to

choose (выбрать) the most exciting landmarks.

4. Фонетическая зарядка. Аудирование песни "Words".

Now listen to the song and decide what we are going to do. (Аудиофайл для учащихся. Звучит фрагмент песни «Слова»).

P1. I think we are going to repeat some words of unit 4 because the song is about words.

T. That’s it. Please, open your students’ books. Exercise 15 at page 65. Will you listen to the recording and tick the words that you

can understand without their Russian translation. Read them aloud, will you?

P1. Museum, gallery, cinema, stadium, park, parliament, history, square, taxi, radio, symbol, real, monument and tourist.

T. How clever of you. Thank you. What words can’t you understand? Ask your classmates, please.

P2. Dasha, could you tell me what the word “abbey” means?

Dasha: Ilya, it means a church. E.g. In our town there is a church near the railway station.

P2. Thank you.

P3. Alla, how do you say “square” in Russian?

P4. Pavel, it’s easy. E.g.In Moscow there is Red Square.

P3. Square means площадь. Thank you. P4. You are welcome.

T. Now listen to the recording # 17 p. 66 and imitate the speaker. (Фронтальная форма работы.)

T. Now let’s play a ball and say what sights you have seen and where you have been.

P1. May I play?

P2. I’ll be the first to play! I like to play very much.

T. Oh! What a problem situation for me. Let’s do this. If one of you tells us the definition of the word, the winner will start

playing. Ready? Go! Events in the past.

P1. It’s a radio.

T. Now it’s your turn, Sasha.

P2. It’s history.

T. You are the winner, Sasha. A fair play. Boys and girls, ask Sasha if he has been to these places or he has seen them. And Dasha

will make a conclusion where Sasha has been and what he has seen. Sasha, take the ball, please.

P4 - Have you ever been to Buckingham Palace? - P1. - No, I haven’t. I was only in the Palace of Culture in my town. P5, P6…

T. Thank you, my dear students. Dasha, you are ready, aren’t you?

Dasha: Sasha has seen Big Ben and Trafalgar Square, but he has never been to Buckingham palace.

T. Thank you, Dasha.

6. Контроль домашнего задания: № 16 с. 65.

T. Please, remind (напомните) me the topic of our future quiz.

T. Thank you. Please, get ready with your copy-books, pens, pencils and rulers. Draw a three column table and put down the heading

“Places of Interest in …” and in your columns:

7. Физкультминутка.

T. We have done a lot. Let’s imagine (представим) we are flying to London. Please, stand up and stretch your hands, do like this and

repeat after me, please: “Up and down, up and down this the way to London town. Now in your groups, please. ( Учащиеся выполняют

физкультминутку в своей группе to London,to Moscow, to Buy).

A. Поиск ассоциаций с достопримечательностями России и Буя, родного города учащихся.

T. Now four pupils are going to be speakers: Masha, Dima, Nastya and Vlad. You will read texts 1-4 aloud. We will listen to you and

put down the names of the English sights and try to remember similar (похожие) attractions in our country and in the town.

The Tower of London / The Kremlin / Strelka ( a former wooden tower at the meeting point of the two rivers Kostroma &Vyoksa in

1536). Now a place for rest.

The Houses of Parliament / State Duma, The Building of the White House / The Building of the Town Duma

Tower Bridge / Many bridges / Railway Bridge

8. Групповая работа учащихся с текстами о достопримечательностях Лондона. (Раздать карточки с вопросами.)

T. Now you will read one text sentence by sentence in your group. Group 1/2/3/4 – Text 1/2/3/4. One pupil will ask questions, the

other will answer. Be positive and help each other. I think seven minutes will be OK for reading and communication. Помощь и

консультация учителя.

T. Would you like to watch some more attractions?

9. Дополнение списка достопримечательностей Лондона, просмотр мультимедийной презентации "Places of Interest in London".

T. Watch the presentation and add some more places of interest, please. (После просмотра).

10. Групповая работа. Путешествие по карте Лондона: расскажи своим одноклассникам о маршруте путешествия. Упр. № 21 с. 67 и одна

группа находится у карты Лондона на интерактивной доске. Помощь и консультация учителя.

T. Would you like to take part in the Week of Foreign languages? Put down “Yes/No/I don’t know”. Please, open you students’ books,

page 58 and choose three adjectives to describe your feelings during the lesson.
