«Triumph» is the oldest cinema in Perm. He retained the special atmosphere of chamber and elitism typical of the first film shows at the beginning of the previous century. «Triumph» is famous for being the Festival Theatre. Here French, German, Japanese film festivals, presentations and first night shows with the actors and musicians are regularly held. Art-house and classics, documentary films and the most cash rental movies of the world are available for the viewers of the cinema «Triumph».

Let's recollect the history...The official history of the cinema dates back to 1911. «Elegant, first-class cinema "Triumph" is arranged according to the model of the best foreign theatres. A luxurious environment. Electric Fountain. Buffet. Always a new program of paintings, accompanied by string orchestra». At some data already in 1910 in a building at Pokrovskaya (today - Lenin) Street, 44 «Illusion» was located. Film shows (including the famous movies by brothers Lumiere), had many parts, and one could enter the hall after any part of the film, and even stay there all day long. Before the beginning of each part the two ladies in elegant velvet dresses with the same hairstyle moved the burgundy curtain apart and invited visitors. The seats were also covered with burgundy velvet, and the molding ceiling was decorated with a wide swath rebus «3 UMF», which meant «Triumph».

In 1920 in the building of the cinema a winter theater «Burlak at Rest» was opened. Every meeting finished with the film show. In 1932 the first stationary sound was installed, and the first sound films were shown. Films: «Golden mountains», «Battleship «Potemkin», «Chapaev», «Free Pass», «We are from Kronstadt». Before the beginning of the films professional artists and amateur teams made their performances. Old people remembered when all the citizens of Perm visited the concerts of jazzman Benyu Fisher. In 1936 they started to display children's films. From 1933 to 1999, a cinema was called «Art», but after the great reconstruction its former glory name, and perennial bourgeois elegance were returned to this cinama.

At the present moment the building of the cinema is sold and closed.
